Mindfulness is the present-moment awareness of our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, carried out with nonjudgement, gentleness, curiosity, and acceptance. It is a means to getting to know ourselves intimately through techniques that enhance self-awareness, attention control, and emotional regulation. Once mastered, these three self-regulation skills can be applied to all areas of life, especially those that influence well-being.
